Goodbye 2022, what big energy you had!

Wow, what a year it was!

How is 2023 here already!?

Doesn't this always happen though - we blink and then winter is over, and then spring quickly comes and goes, and then summer is a short flash of light and then fall happens all over again and then we're back to winter once again.

This year I learned a lot, and tried a lot of new things. I participated in a Trash - Fashion show, and a Halloween fashion show (which I also helped produce). I met several local makers and designers in the community, all of whom I hope to stay connected to. I made a pretty sweet Cheetoh costume, and a pretty rad Chester Cheetah costume too! I created several new scrunchie styles which I had a blast experimenting with. I took a big risk and dove into the world of stockings and that was a really exciting time! I helped create a slug queen outfit for a dear friend of mine. SEW many other exciting things happened but these were some of my favorites.

As always, this business has changed and evolved a lot, and continues to do so each day. What will my "bread and butter" items be? What do shoppers want to buy from a local fashion designer like me? What will sell the best at the Saturday Market, to tourists and locals alike? All constant questions I'm asking myself.

Social media and booth set up and consistently things that I struggle with but I'm learning. I know now that I don't always have to post every single day, and it's better to plan out a really awesome post than to just "post something for the sake of posting something." Having a plan is good and this is still something I'm working on being better at. For the most part I plan out a lot of things, but this year I was so busy with things outside of my business that I struggled to make time for business planning. That will be changing in 2023, and I'm working on building a social media plan, a sewing and design schedule, and revising my business plan. I'm also excited to experiment with my embroidery machine...I've had the machine for a while now and haven't had the time to play with it - but I am SEW looking forward to it!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for following along as I do my best to navigate this fashionable world that we live in. Your support means the world to me and I couldn't do it without you!

Much love and appreciation,

XO
